RAINBOW BRIDGE

With sad hearts and fond memories of our beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge…

When one of our beloved pets pass away, that pet goes to a place called Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

ALL the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then together you and your special pet(s) cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Maggie  &  Jolene GSRNE #409  &  GSRNE #410 2003 - 9/2016  &  2007 - 11/13/2017  I had to say goodbye to Jolene today. Her hips were very bad and her mobility had been deteriorating. After a very bad weekend in which she struggled terribly, I knew I needed to let her go. Maggie was Jolene's mom, and both were senior dogs when they came to live with me in July 2014. They were both such sweethearts. I lost Maggie in September 2016 to a heart condition. Jolene was not herself after...

“It’s hardest to forget where there is such an empty space now that you have gone."  💙 It is with great sadness that we announce that GSRNE’S Winston has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We all loved this boy and, for all of what he went through in his early life, he was a gentle giant. Winston was such a happy, energetic boy, in spite of having dealt with the damage to his eye and ear and going through Heartworm treatment when he first came to GSRNE.  He lived to be 14.5 years old, and...

Her owner died, and the owner's daughter was trying to find homes for his five dogs. #396 Angus

Angus GSRNE #396 ? - 8/6/2014   The GSRNE family is heartbroken that our wonderful gentle boy has left us. We always work hard to find the right match between our dogs and adoptive families. When Angus came to GSRNE in the fall of 2010, we soon found out that staying with his foster mom, Peggy, would be the best place for him to be. She certainly did everything for him as much that any one of us would have done for one of our own dogs nursing him through many eye and ear infections. She...
