Waiting at the Rainbow Bridge

#437 Ava

Deep in our hearts you will always stay, loved and remembered every day…♥️
“We said goodbye to our sweet Ava yesterday. 💔
We laid out a blanket in her favorite spot in the yard, and she ate steak and ice cream while we petted her and told her what a good girl she was. She fell asleep peacefully, feeling safe and knowing she was loved.”
Ava, GSRNE #437, lost her battle with DM last week. This sweet girl came to GSRNE with her 2 brothers and mother in the spring of 2015.  Their owner had gotten sick and was not able to care for them any longer. Ava was adopted by her foster home who told us she was the sweetest dog they ever had.  She continued to give back to the rescue, who saved her by happily welcoming many of our foster dogs into her home, including: Ramble, Thor, Gracie, Elvis and her adopted brother, Koda.
You may recognize this beautiful girl who has graced our fb cover many times, and was a favorite of many of our followers.  Ava has also been on our GSRNE calendars and many of our posts and promotional products. She was part of the immediate GSRNE family that we saw often and we are heartbroken for our friends, Loueen and Larry and her GSD brother Koda, who misses her terribly.  Still so young, it’s just so unfair …her story wasn’t finished.
Rest in peace beautiful Ava, and keep chasing those balls in Heaven with your best buddy, Elvis. ♥️xoxo
