With his shiny, red and black coloring this one year old male named, Rosco is stunning! He was purchased at 8 weeks old from a breeder in southern MA by a family with children. Unfortunately with their busy schedules they didn’t have much time for a growing German Shepherd puppy. They did try to take him to a few obedience classes where he was reactive to the other dogs. Because the family lived a few stories up they were letting Rosco on out their deck to go potty. There was another small dog in the home that Rosco got along with but as time went on he was becoming food protective from the small dog in home. Unfortunately the young socialization window was lost and they felt he was too much dog for them to handle.
Because of his lack of training and socialization we felt it would best to board him. We’re happy to say this gentle boy has had some obedience training, and is now potty trained since he’s been with us. Rosco is eager to learn and does well with lots of praise and positive rewards. If it was up to him he would play with you all day! Rosco has a really sweet personality and seems to bond quickly to people.
We think Rosco will do best in a home that has some good dog skills, and is willing to continue with training. Because of his age we think it would be good for him to be the only dog in the home for now where he can get all the attention and training an active one year old needs.
