5-year-old Ziva, as explained by our evaluator, is “an absolute sweetheart and probably my favorite evaluation so far”. She has a lovely temperament and enjoys being with her people as well as around other dogs. She was also nonreactive to cats.
Ziva’s original owner lived far from work so she traditionally took her dogs with her. Her prior dog enjoyed it, but Ziva was too nervous and would attend doggie daycare instead. Unfortunately, the commute began to become an issue and the closer community her owner was moving to did not allow large dogs. Out of options, her owner called us to help rehome Ziva.
As luck would have it, we had an approved adopter that sounded like a good match for Ziva, particularly because they’d been waiting for a dog that was not reactive to cats. They’d recently lost their last GSD and were missing their walking buddy and treasured companion. Ziva has fit right into their home. She has enjoyed the long walks and time spent as a family. They are taking it slow (correctly!) in introducing Ziva to their cats and allowing her to acclimate to her new surroundings. Her new family has told us what a love she is. Ziva likes to cuddle on the couch, she is already sleeping soundly through the night, and they couldn’t be more thrilled. Congratulations to Ziva and her forever family.
