Waiting at the Rainbow Bridge

#595 Lucy Mosca

Our Lucy, (formerly Raven – GSRNE #595), left us much too soon. Lucy celebrated her 5th birthday on December 3rd. She battled many illnesses in her lifetime – EPI, Pannus and finally lymphoma before passing away on December 20th.

When we first adopted Lucy, she was extremely nervous and afraid of everything as she had very little socialization as a puppy. As time went on and she began to trust us more and more, we were able to introduce her to new people and places. She made amazing strides in developing confidence. She developed a close circle of canine and human friends and was eventually able to attend a doggie day care playgroup.

Lucy enjoyed her short life to the fullest. She looked forward to everyday events like a walk in the woods, being brushed, and sitting on our back deck keeping an eye on the neighborhood as well as watching the birds and squirrels. She accompanied us on vacations and enjoyed running full speed (boy, was she fast!) on Cape Cod Beaches, swimming in New Hampshire lakes, and walking miles of trails at Acadia National Park.

Lucy became our constant companion – always checking on our whereabouts around the house. She even checked on us several times each and every night. Our home is very quiet without her. We miss her very much but grateful we were able to have her unconditional love as long as we did.
