On Saturday, April 1st, we start the tagging party at 10:30AM and work until we’re done, which is usually around 5PM. If you’re unable to stay all day, please consider coming by for a couple of hours. Any length of time will be a big help! We DO take a food break in the middle of the day, and we each bring something to snack on or drink (fruit juice, soda, water, etc.). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to R.S.V.P. to the Tagging Party and let us know what food or drink item you’ll be able to bring. Each person can bring a small or moderate amount (2 bottles of soda, a large bag of chips, 1 kind of dessert, some sandwiches, a plate of cheese and crackers, etc). We put it all out, buffet style, and take about 45 minutes to reward ourselves with food (positive reinforcement!). If you are not able to bring food, we still hope you will attend. There’s always enough to share!
What do we do at the Tagging Party?
All the donated items for the auction should be received by us by Monday, March 20, 2017. Once we have the items, we need to decide which go into the Live Auction (usually about 60 – 70 items), which go into the Yellow Silent Auction and which go into the Blue Silent Auction. We physically move all the items into their designated rooms. We then put a colored dot sticker on each item showing the Auction Catalog number assigned to that item. Items that do not yet have a description for the catalog need to have one written, so we need creative writers to do that on the spot. Eventually, all items will be boxed up for transport to the Holiday Inn on the morning of the Auction!
