Titan is an intelligent, curious, and perceptive 2-year-old male.  Titan was very loved by his former family.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, his owners lost their housing and moved in with extended family.  There were already multiple dogs in the home and fights soon began to occur between Titan and the resident male GSD.  Titan’s owners tried many techniques to keep the peace, but found this often required keeping Titan separated.  They knew that this wasn’t fair to him.  Although they were devastated, they called us to rehome him.  We evaluated Titan and found a well-trained and friendly dog.  He had working dog drive so we knew we had to make sure we found him a family who knew the breed, were active, and understood the importance of continued training.

We did not have a foster home available for Titan, but we had a family who applied to adopt after their German Shepherd, also named Tyton, passed away a few months prior.  They were looking for a young male fitting Titan’s description.  We called to see if they might be interested in fostering him with the plan to adopt if things went well.  They later told us they had chills when they heard his name and just knew he was meant to be their new family member.

Titan made a seamless transition into their home.  They told us he is such a spunky dog who picks up on everything.  He has a habit of cocking his head when they are talking as if he understands the conversation.   In fact, he even started picking up words to where they now spell many such as “cookie”!  Titan has lots of energy and loves to run after the ball, swim, go for his evening walks, and play with squeaky toys.  He has bonded to the kids in the home and always keeps a watchful eye.  His foster family says he is a big dog with a big bark, especially when he sees a dog in the distance or when someone he doesn’t know enters the home.  However, he redirects well and will warm up quickly, taking treats gently, then finding a place to nap nearby.

After several weeks, we asked Titan’s foster family if they still felt he was the right dog for them.  They immediately said yes, without a doubt!  Congratulations to Titan and his new family!
