Meet Ruger

The death of his owner brought this handsome three-year-old boy to us.  It was a very sad situation. She was living with her mother when she died, and the mother was grief-stricken about the sudden loss of her daughter and heartbroken about having to give up Ruger due to the loss of her home.  She was hoping her son could keep Ruger, but unfortunately, the two adult male dogs in the home wanted no part of him, and it became increasingly difficult to manage the situation, and she knew it wasn’t fair to Ruger.

We can’t say enough about this good boy. He is very friendly, just a love bug.  He loves everyone, especially kids. Ruger is easy to train and wants to please his people.  Loves to play with all his toys and is just the perfect family dog.  We knew we had to help him.  He wasn’t with us very long, maybe a week in foster care, and he was ready. We already knew we had the perfect home for him. We had an applicant who had just recently lost her 11-year-old female GSD.  We told her about Ruger, and she came right down to meet him and, just like all of us, she fell in love with him right away.  Ruger is just a fabulous dog who suffered the tremendous loss of losing his owner and home, but, has transitioned beautifully into his new home. He’s well-adjusted, happy, and we are thrilled for him and his new mom and so grateful we were trusted for his care.
