The best word to describe this girl’s personality is “playful.”  She loves to play with other dogs, if they are available, or to chase after a ball or squeaky toy if her person will throw one for her.  She has a fun-loving attitude and enjoys learning new things to do.

Her original home was with a young woman who had to leave her crated 4-8 hours at a time.  There was also a cat in the home, and Rose would give the cat play bows and try to get a play session started when she was out of the crate; but she didn’t get enough attention and exercise. The woman realized that this was not much of a life for Rose and asked GSRNE to take her in and find her a home where she could run and play like she was meant to do.

In foster care, Rose is living with a senior male GSD and going to a play group at a dog park every morning.  She loves to do chase games with the other dogs, under the watchful eye of her foster Dad.  She rides nicely in the back seat of the extended cab on his truck and walks well on leash along the path from the parking lot to the dog park.  She’s comfortable around the other people there, but she’s mostly focused on the other dogs, who are a lot more fun.

At home, she especially likes her squeaky toys and will run around the house with one in her mouth before taking it to her foster Dad to try and get him to throw it. Outside, in the fenced yard, she loves to chase after a tennis ball and will proudly bring it back for another throw.  She hasn’t yet learned how to catch one in her mouth, though.  Rose has had a chance to go swimming but doesn’t really like to go deeper than chest-high in the water.  She’ll splash and play in the shallows and will fetch a ball or stick if it doesn’t go out farther than she can feel the bottom under her paws.

When visitors come to the house, Rose is timid at first; she’ll bark a few times and then wants some time to observe the new people before she’ll approach.  With her foster Dad and his friends, she loves a good belly rub or scratching behind the ears.  She’s a friendly, intelligent girl who is ready to find her forever home!
