Lola is a beautiful, medium-sized, spayed female, 2.5 years old.
She came into our program after a call from her owner, who was
going through a divorce and having to sell her home. We had an
approved adopter waiting for the right dog, and Lola’s evaluation
proved that she could be the one. We asked the family if they
would foster-to-adopt; and after she had been with them for a
short time, they told us there were no real problems to report.
They’ve described Lola as smart, energetic and very happy; she’s
well-behaved, sits at the door to go outside and does not beg for
food while humans are eating. She does not like to be alone and
will stay close to her family members, even getting up from a nap
to follow someone to another room.
With two boys in the family, elementary-school aged, Lola gets
many opportunities to do her favorite thing, which is to fetch and
retrieve tennis balls in the fenced yard. Their Dad enjoys taking
daily walks in a nearby state park, and Lola gets very excited
when she sees him pick up the leash; she always gets to go along.
She’s calm when they pass other people and does get excited
when passing another dog on leash but is not aggressive.
Her current family members describe her ideal home as one
where she would not be alone too often and can receive a lot of
love and attention. She should be in a home where her people
could dedicate time to getting her outside to exercise and would
enjoy both play sessions and ongoing training . In other words,
her ideal home is where she is right now. Lola is being adopted
by her current family, and they are the perfect match for each
other!
