Meet Kiba

Kiba’s journey began overseas when she was a puppy in Rwanda, where her owner first welcomed her into the family before bringing her to the United States. Over the years, Kiba has been a loyal companion, but life circumstances have changed. After planning to relocate to the South and raising two young children, her owner found that she no longer had the time to provide Kiba with the attention and companionship she deserves. Wanting what is best for her beloved dog, she reached out to GSRNE to help find Kiba the loving home she needs.

At 9 years old, Kiba is the perfect blend of adventure partner and devoted companion. Calm and well-mannered in the home, she is happiest simply being near her people, whether you’re relaxing in the living room or spending time outdoors. She loves affection, enjoys being part of the family, and has a quiet, gentle presence that makes her an easy housemate. Fully crate-trained and respectful of household routines, Kiba has all the wonderful qualities that come with maturity.

When it’s time to head outside, Kiba is always ready for an adventure. She walks beautifully on leash, responds well to commands, and loves exploring with her people. Her favorite outings involve water—whether it’s a trip to the beach, a stroll along a river, or splashing around on a warm day. She also enjoys car rides and is always eager to be your co-pilot.

Highly intelligent and eager to please, Kiba is easy to train and enjoys learning new things. She does have a natural prey drive and enjoys keeping an eye on squirrels, rabbits, and other small critters, but she is responsive to her handler and redirects well. On walks, she is generally content to ignore other dogs as long as they do the same.

Kiba is looking for a family that will appreciate the loyalty, companionship, and steady temperament that only a mature dog can offer. She still has plenty of life, love, and adventures ahead of her and is hoping to find a forever home where she can once again be a cherished member of the family.
