It was a very difficult decision for the owners of eight-year-old Bella to contact us about surrendering her. They told us that Bella was a wonderful and amazing dog. Great with the kids, their cats and other dogs. They had been trying for two months to find Bella a home on their own, without success. The reason why they needed to rehome her was because their two young children had recently become highly allergic to the dog and for the past two months she was not allowed in the house and was isolated in the garage. They knew it was not a good quality of life for Bella.  This was a really hard surrender for this family they loved Bella very much and we knew we had to help.

At the time, we did not have an open foster home, and Bella stayed with her family and remained on our wait list. A few weeks later, we had approved adopters that were quite dog savvy and recently lost their male German shepherd.  We reached out to them, and they immediately said yes and agreed to welcome Bella into their home and hearts as a foster to adopt.  The transition was hard for the first few weeks for Bella. She was confused and stressed and really missed her family, especially the children/teenager she lived with, but, her new home had lots of patience, and she soon settled in. She loves her daily walks on the paths and trails behind her new home, going for rides in the car and really gets excited when the grandchildren visit her home a few times a week. Bella loves to play fetch with the children and is very affectionate with them. Her new family thinks she is AMAZING, and Bella is loving her new home. We are beyond grateful to hear how much they love this beautiful girl.
