Ares owner contacted us in September because her work schedule had been increased. She told us she didn’t have the extra down time and felt it wasn’t fair to Ares. Dean, a repeat adopter who welcomed GSRNE’s Jake into his home in October 2019 offered to welcome this pretty girl into his home.
A retired K9 Handler who has always had male dogs Dean became quite smitten with this affectionate, happy girl! A month had barely gone by before he told us how much he loved her and couldn’t imagine not having her in their home. We were thrilled when he asked to adopt her!
Ares is smart and learns quickly. At only 2 years old she still has many puppy qualities and is very playful, loves to play fetch and her jolly ball is one of her favorite toys. She loves going on her walks and when home is a great companion always choosing to stay close by to her family. Due to a lack of socialization she can become nervous around unfamiliar dogs. She is still unsure being around Jake who is twice her size so, Dean will continue to work on her confidence building and social interactions. The good thing is Ares has become much more comfortable with strangers now. Dean also told us she has a great nose and scent classes may be in her future.
