Zoey is a sweet 6 year old female who loves to play fetch and will bring the ball right over to you as a reminder that it’s time for some fun. She’s a little shy when she first meets you, but once she’s comfortable, she enjoys pets and a good ol’ belly rub.
We were called about Zoey this past fall. Her family was having another baby and they were unable to give her the time and attention she needed with their new schedule. They wanted her to live her best life so contacted us. They told us she’d had some basic training, was good around their toddler, and left the resident cat alone. Our evaluator found a calm girl who also was also interested in and unfazed by the test dog.
We had a prior adopter with a male GSD that seemed to match Zoey’s energy level. Because she’d done well with our test dog, we were hoping the two dogs would get along. Dog introductions are often one of the biggest hurtles new adopters encounter. In the excitement of bringing home a new family member, it is easy not to give enough time for everyone to adjust and acclimate. We are immensely impressed by the time and care Zoey’s new dad took to introduce her to her new brother Gus (GSRNE’s Gustav #486). As a result, the two dogs are now best friends and love spending their days together.
We are thrilled to be able to announce Zoey’s adoption and addition to the GSRNE pack.
