Adopted June 28, 2020
Nala was adopted from GSRNE in October 2017 when she was five years old. She was enjoying a wonderful life with her adopters, who were retired and home most of the time. She also became friends with their senior male GSD, Tundra, who they had adopted two years earlier from another rescue.
Sadly, the husband died a year ago, and Tundra passed on a few months ago. Then, Nala’s remaining special person had increasing health problems and had to undergo a debilitating surgery. The couple’s daughter contacted GSRNE to explain that no one else in the family was able to take care of Nala long-term. Her adopter knew that GSRNE would be there to take care of her girl until another wonderful home could be found.
So, Nala is waiting, patiently, for that wonderful home. She had originally been purchased at a pet shop and given to a woman as a gift. When that woman started working long days, she would leave Nala crated for 9-12 hours at a time and could see that it was not OK. Nala was bored and lonely and took to chasing her tail to pass the time. Once in a foster home with GSRNE, she showed us how playful and curious she can be. She loves chasing after a ball, going for walks and just being close to her family members. Nala is ready for the next chapter in her life to unfold and has a lot of love to share….you can see it in her eyes!
