This bouncy young female (16 months old) likes to be with you and is always ready to try something new. She enjoys a good game of fetch and will go pick up a toy when told, “get your toy.” In her foster home, she enjoys the company of a senior male GSD; but he’s not always in the mood to respond to her play bows. They do go to a dog park each morning, and Storm is always excited to say hello to the people there. Most of the dogs are seniors, though, so she plays a lot of fetch with her foster Dad.
Storm has always been well-loved and came from a home where she lived with three indoor cats. We were told that she mothered one of the cats, was picked on by another cat and didn’t interact with a senior cat, who kept her distance. In her foster home, so far, Storm chases the resident cat, who runs and hides. We think she would enjoy the company of a dog-savvy cat who would not find her intimidating.
She lost her original home because her owner was dealing with a serious health issue and no longer able to give her the attention and exercise a healthy, young German Shepherd needs. It was a difficult time for Storm, and we could see that she was sad and confused during her first few days in foster care. Fortunately, though, the care and interaction she receives has helped her rediscover her fun-loving side.
Storm needs obedience training with her forever person and will enjoy learning new skills and expanding her repertoire. Please contact us if you’d like to learn more!
