GSRNE is thrilled to announce that on September 10th we will be participating in the 2023 Pet Rock Festival “a huge animal event” and “a year-round endeavor to educate, promote and communicate with people the importance of treating animals with kindness.” See flier and read more at Pet Rock Festival.
We previously enjoyed being a participant in this event, but Covid and the more remote location prevented us from joining again until this year when the festival relocated to the SAC Park in Shrewsbury, MA (easily accessible from 290/495/Rt 9, central MA). This event is lots of fun. We get to meet the public, tell them about our rescue and our beloved German Shepherd Dogs, recruit volunteers, adopters, and fosters, meet other groups and rescuers, and of course sell our awesome GSRNE merchandise!
We are looking for volunteers to help set up, man the table, and clean up. We are limited to 5 volunteers on the field at a time so we are hoping to split the time into shifts (depending on the amount of people available). We are required to be set up by 10:30 am and cannot begin to clean until 5 pm (this is a direct request of the organizers, the festival runs 12-5). Shift times are below.
