The Walk n Wag Event was a great success thanks to YOU…our volunteers and supporters who came out on Saturday, Sept 29th at the 4H Fairgrounds! Over 30 volunteers gathered to prepare for the many exhibitors who came to help fundraise for German Shepherd Rescue of New England! Facebook supporters, members and the local community shared a very exciting day. We raised $5400 which is very good considering the weather. If you were unable to come and have Walk pledge sheets or you wish to support us now, please send your contribution online, or mail to PO Box 299, Wayland, MA 01778.
We were honored to have the University of Massachusetts – Lowell Rugby team players on board to help set up. A big THANK YOU!!!! We also thank the Chelmsford Dog Association for the great food and enthusiasm!
Highlights of the day: We started out the day with our Walk, led by Loueen and Larry LaVallee, Sadi and Rocket. In the afternoon we were given an amazing canine demonstration by Officer Dave Leo and Flacko of the Chelmsford Police Department, and Officer Corey Peladeau and Benny of the Westford Police Department.
Khaled Behisy trainer from First Choice Canine and E’teo did a great demonstration of obedience. However, there was an accident that happened resulting in E’teo breaking a leg. He was rushed for treatment and his fractured leg splinted. We are keeping up to date on his recovery and are sending prayers.
Lots of “cow bell” ringing at the Lucky ticket raffle sounded thru the park. Our sales tables overflowed with lots of novelty sweats, our new calendars for 2013 and our new candles. All of these items will be highlighted during the coming months.
Thanks to you for providing feedback and great ideas to make next year’s Walk n Wag an even better event!
