A BIG Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Walk’n’Wag event on Saturday, September 28th at the 4H Fairgrounds in Westford, MA! The day was sunny and perfect for enjoying the many vendors, rescues and friends that came to the event. I’m happy to share that we raised over $6,000 this day which will help in caring for the many dogs that we know are in need! About 40 volunteers were at the park bright and early to set up the GSRNE tents and man the booths! More volunteers came throughout the day to relieve and help. All the people and dogs enjoyed the Kickoff Walk at 11:30. Following, at noon was an agility demo by Sandy Ingmanson of NEOESR. People also enjoyed visiting our Silent Auction, Sales tables and our Chinese Raffle booths. Our fellow vendors and rescues contributed to everyone’s enjoyment of the day. Many GSRNE dogs were there and visitors of all breeds! We want to congratulate Fred Davis’ (and GSRNE’s) Buddy for earning his Canine Good Citizen award. The day’s activities also included a great demonstration by David Kaye of Kaye-Nine Training!
We would also like to thank the Walk’n’Wag planning committee: Chrysan Corcione, Lauralee Davis, Tina Russo, Jill Cuddihy, Remy Carroll, Karen McCall, Sharon McArdle, and Laurie Ryan for the hours and hours of work done to prepare for this event! Also thanks to the many vendors and rescues that came. And a special thanks to the Chelmsford Dog Association for great food and awesome support of GSRNE.
If you weren’t able to come to the WALK it is not too late to help! This is our biggest fall fundraiser, and we still need your support. You can make your contribution through PayPal online or send checks to GSRNE, P.O. Box 299, Wayland, MA 01778.
