Riley is approximately 6 yrs old and was surrendered to Animal Control by her owner who claimed that he got her off of Craig’s list a week prior for $25.00. She was thin, had a dirty shaggy coat and had severe eye discharge and irritation. We brought her to the vet and found out that she had Lyme disease and Anaplasma, which is another tick-born disease. The problem with her eyes is a condition called dry eye, she will need eye ointment and drops for the rest of her life but she is very good while they get applied. She was treated for all of the above ailments and is slowly recovering.

She is an absolute love and is very well behaved. She wants to be where ever you are but is not a barker and will sit quietly in her cage or the outdoor run. She is learning what walks are all about and loves to be in the shelter exploring the rooms.

She does however; show some inappropriate behavior towards other dogs, so she would definitely need to go to a home without other animals and with a very dog savvy owner who has experience with that type of behavior. She deserves a second chance for a happy life
