Meet bella Stella! This beautiful, long-haired GSD is seven-years-old and recently joined the GSRNE family when her owner had to move into a smaller apartment. Stella is a sweet girl who does well in the car and knows basic commands, such as “sit” and “down.” She is learning to come when called and has recently learned to “wait” before walking through a doorway. Entirely housebroken, Stella is quick to let her foster parents know when she has to go outside.
Stella is social, but calm. Although she barks when she hears a knock on the door or when someone walks by the house while she is outside, Stella enjoys meeting strangers, and she will gladly shake hands when asked! Stella’s foster parents report that she is very gentle with both adults and children alike. She has not spent time with cats or other dogs, but she was relaxed when meeting dogs at the groomer’s.
Like many GSDs, Stella is always up for a good cuddle on the couch. She will calmly sit between her foster parents while they watch TV. In addition to cuddle time, Stella loves playing with toys, going on walks, and playing outside; she will even run around in circles like a young puppy!
When Stella first arrived in foster care, she did not seem interested in food; however, her appetite has since improved, and her foster parents report that she enjoys meals and snacks. She is now crate trained and does not seem to mind sleeping in her crate at night or when her foster parents leave for short periods of time during the day.
Stella would do well with a family who has a flexible schedule and can spend time with her at home; her foster family feels she is a perfect match for them and vice versa, so Stella has already found her forever home!
