Meet Bella. Her name is related to the Italian and Latin words for beautiful and she certainly lives up to the name.

Bella came to us from an Animal Shelter. The shelter received her from a breeder who was retiring her at age 5 and wanted to be sure she found a good home.

Bella is a very sweet and quiet girl. She likes to be with you most of the time but she is also fine if she needs to be left alone while you go to work or run errands. Bella is happy to just be at your side when you are watching TV or just relaxing. She likes to have her belly rubbed and enjoys going for walks. She walks well on a lead and prefers quiet streets. She was extremely shy and afraid when we first met her and although she has become comfortable with people, the ideal home for Bella will be quiet. She does not do well when there is a lot of activity and noise around her.

Bella lives with a 2 year old male GSD and a 3 year old female Beagle in her foster home. She will run with them in the yard but overall she is not an “active” dog. She also lives with two cats which she ignores. Bella is timid around new people and will need time to adjust to new surroundings. She is going to basic training classes and is working on socialization. She has come a long way from her days as a terrified girl in a shelter but she will continue to need patience and time to learn how wonderful life as a GSD can be.
