Be A Buddy!

A meaningful life will not be found in the next job or the next car. The way you get meaning
in your life is to devote yourself to helping others and creating something that gives you purpose.
~ Morrie Schwartz, in "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom~

Everybody Needs a Buddy Sometime!

So many people love our dogs and would like to adopt them but for various reasons they can't. Now you can be their Buddy until they get adopted. The Buddy Program allows you to provide support for a specific dog that touches your heart.

We are looking for those people that would like to be a Buddy to one of our dogs. This person is a special person who provides food or supplies for a GSRNE dog while in foster care to help him/her get the fresh start they deserve!

Every cent of your generous donation will go toward the dog’s vet care, food and necessities. Our adoption fees and fundraisers do not cover the costs of the many dogs in our program.

Because GSRNE is a 501 (c) (3) corporation, your donation is tax deductible as well.

Being an Buddy is a simple thing to do.  You may pick a dog to sponsor for any of the following and donate securely through Paypal by clicking this button

Toys

Many of the rescue dogs have never had a chance to play or have a toy.   It is a gift to us all to see a dog begin to play for the first time in foster care!  We are never quite sure what will catch their fancy – each dog has their own preferences.  Send some toys to your favorite rescue GSD:

Toys: $7 each
Set of 9 Toys: $60

Set includes:  Jolly Ball, Kong, Giggle Ball, Fuzzy Squeaky toy, Soft Frisbee, Solid Rubber Tennis Ball, Knot Rope toy, Giant Nylabone, Clutch Ball

Tara's adopted Mom & Dad shower her with toys (and love!)

Safety

Safety is very important for our rescue dogs.  They need to feel safe and secure in their new foster homes.  We need to provide them with a safe environment where they can flourish.  To do this, we want to microchip every dog to ensure that they will never be lost and homeless again.  Car safety is also important.  Dogs can be seriously injured in the car just like people … and they can easily hurt human passengers if not properly contained during an accident.  Be an angel for one of our rescue dogs:

Microchipping: $40
Car Safety Belt:  $70
Complete Safety Kit: $110

Preventive Medicines

All of our dogs are tested, and treated if necessary, for heartworm and tickborne diseases.  We place them on preventive medications to prevent ticks and fleas, and heartworms.  Help sponsor one of our dogs with a 3 month supply of preventive medications.

Heartworm Prevention: $18
Tick and Flea Prevention: $30
Total Preventive Medicine Kit: $48

Food

Another important way to support GSRNE is to send food and treats to your favorite rescue dog.  The typical stay of a GSD in foster care is usually 3-4 months.  In that time a typical GSD eats 3 to 4 bags of food.   A happy well-fed dog is just a click away!

In order to keep your donation tax deductible, we ask that you send your Buddy donation directly to GSRNE. The foster family will then purchase the food or item for the dog and submit the receipt.

Other options are also available.   If you are willing to provide any of the above for one of our rescue GSDs,
Email us for more information.  Our Buddy Coordinator will contact you.

If you are interested in playing a vital role in helping a needy German Shepherd Dog, please consider becoming a foster dog's Buddy!  You will have the joy of knowing you made a difference in saving the life of one of our beautiful dogs.
